Day 280

Ryan didn't have any school today so we went into town to visit my parents. The kids were quite happy sweeping up Oma and Opa's drive way and playing with the leaves.

Day 265

Found this tiny guy while pulling some dead flowers out of the garden. Isn't he adorable?

Day 242

We started off the day by getting some apples off of the top of the cat run. I love our apple tree but I hate the mess it makes. The apples everywhere attract wasps, and when we mow the lawn, we end up with applesauce all over the grass.

I also enlisted Wally's help in switching around the desk and wine hutch in the dining room. I hate the desk being there but we have no roof for it any where else. We are planning some renos upstairs, so we will  have a little landing above the stairs where I'm going to set up a computer and homework area for the boys. Once that is done, we can get rid of this desk and get a proper hutch.

Day 209

We spent most of the day outside today. I mowed the lawn and as I moved some stuff out of the way I spied this tiny baby snake. Of course, the boys were all over it within 2 seconds. They were both very gentle and we let the snake go in a safe place. 

Day 186

One of the hottest days of the summer and my husband decides that today is the day that he has to paint the barn roof.

Day 136

Work continues getting ready for the garage sale. I went to the local newspaper office to day and placed an ad. Wally made a sandwich board type sign for on the road, and I painted on the lettering. Just one more closet to go through, then we hit the kitchen, the living room, and if we can squeeze in Wally's workshop, then we will be done. After that we have to start pricing... I swear it never ends.

The wild garlic leaves are dying off and looking pale, so I picked off the best looking ones and made a pesto out of them.

Supper was Cheesy Boursin Noodles and Chicken, Battered and Fried Beans, and Toasted French Bread with Wild Garlic Pesto.

Day 108

Wally just couldn't get the chainsaw through this tree. The further the blade went down, the more the tree pressed together squeezing the blade. At one point he was so frustrated, he came in and grabbed a hammer and chisel. Finally the damn thing gave and the yard is now safe for the kids again.

I also found the first visitor to my new pond today. I think he liked the new digs :)
