This farmer was spreading what I'm assuming was fertilizer. I don't know how much of it he actually got on his field though. It made such a mess that from far it looked like there was a bad fire going on.
I don't know what it's called in english, but in french it's "chaux". It's almost like a chalk substance, I use it in my barn to desinfect it after cleaning. You just spread it around and leave it there.
