Day 362

This morning Ryan woke up with a weird little flip in his hair that stayed the whole day. By the end of the day I hadn't taken a picture of anything else, so this is it for the day!

Day 328

I found this car decoration at the dollar store. Rudolph the red nosed Sunfire. Hmmm...How embarassed will Wally be driving with me? :P

Day 306

When I let the dogs in this morning, I noticed that one of them had left this body print in the frost.

The boys spent the evening wrestling. I didn't mind this time because they were both actually having fun. Usually Ryan is too rough with Alex and I end up having to yell and seperate them.

Day 297

Wally was home today and the kids had no school, so I escaped for a few hours an met up with my mom at Wal-Mart. It was fun shopping without having to reel in a kid, or yell at them to stop doing this and stop doing that. :P Once we were done, we shared some McNuggets and fries for lunch and parted ways.

Afterwards for supper, I made Ryan something we have been talking about for ages...Green eggs and Ham!

 

As you can see he still won't take off his Waldo costume except for school.

Day 293

Limpy got out this afternoon, no thanks to Alex holding the door open. If you try to catch her, she just runs away in this prancy little hopping run like "Nah nah, you can't get me. " So I gave up. Eventually she ended up on the deck watching birds. She couldn't catch one so I guess she tried to make the birds come to her. Some how this reminds me of an old Sylvester cartoon where he has his mouth wide open waiting for a bird or mouse to come into it. Nice try Limpy! I was able to get her out of her and bring her back inside.

I also had some extra cream cheese and bananas in the freezer, so I decided to make some mini banana loafs. Mmmm! They were so yummy!

Day 283

Alex got into some of the Halloween stuff. It's Count Clothespin Fingers!

Day 271

Today I did one of my favourite things of the year...decorate for Halloween! We live in the middle of nowhere so we never get any kids, but now that I have my own kids, it's an excuse to go all out.

Here is the porch

The decorations on the side of the house. Can you believe I picked the ghosts, the witch's cauldron, and the orange pumpkin and cat in the previous picture out of peoples trash a few years ago? There was nothing wrong with them! The biggest ghost even lights up!

Vlad, the impaled. I made him out of a dollar store mask, some $ store eyeballs, $ store gloves, $ store cape, a styrofoam wig head, 2 pieces of wood, plastic bags for stuffing, some wire, and some old material.

An unsuspecting victim. I added surplus eyeballs to the skull. It makes him look creepier.

Day 262

I spotter this contraption at Wal-Mart today. Has society really become that lazy that they need this?

I think this mushroom in the garden was happy to see me :o :P

I bought a fake skull at the dollar store and put it in Ryan's bed. When he came home from school I told him someone was waiting in his room for him. I'm so going to hell :P

Day 217

It was such a gorgeous day today... sunny, cool, and a bit breezy. Perfect! I brought the kids to daycare so they could play with their friends, and I came home to open all the windows, and go nuts cleaning and fixing up things in the house.

This is the welcoming committee at the kids' daycare. They are always honking or hissing at me when I pull up.

"Look out, or I'll bite you in the butt!"

Once I was done cleaning, it was almost time to pick the boys up again. I decided to use the time by making the boys a huge mega train track up in Ryan's room with 2 tunnels that I made out of cereal boxes as a surprise for when they came home. It was so big, that I couldn't even fit the whole thing in the frame of the camera.

Day 211

I really have to learn to put away my make-up bag. This time he actually got it on his eyelashes, but then he rubbed his eyes. LOL

Day 204

This morning I made the kids some peanut butter toast. My mom bought them a tube of Nutella-type spread from the dutch store. So as I squeezed it onto Ryan's toast, it looked to me like a big cat poop. So I brought it over to him and I said "Sorry Ry, I was making your toast and then one of the cats came over and pooped on it." He thought it was the funniest thing ever and we both cracked up over it the rest of the day. Sometimes I think I am an 8 year old boy trapped in a grown womans body.

I also started making another cake to practice my skills. This one I brought to my mom who is always commenting "Bring me some!" whenever I post food pictures on Facebook. So This time she got a piece :)

Day 194

Day 188

Today we took a 2 hour road trip to a dutch store up near Ottawa. I insisted we take my car because the A/C in Wally's van doesn't work, and hello heat! It can't get any hotter, check out my thermometer:

We took a different route this time and passed through a few towns we had never been to before.

I made Wally stop the car to take a picture of this sign, it just cracked me up. Look out for all those old people wandering the streets!

Here we are! It takes us 2 hours to get here and we're in and out in 15 minutes before we're back on the road again.

One last stop at the cheese factory to get some curd, or as Ryan has dubbed it, "squeaky cheese". We took a look inside at them making these cheese and then I embarrassed him outside by making him pose with the cow. "Mom!" Heh heh heh...

Day 175

The kid falls asleep anywhere. I left him playing a Thomas the Train video game while I went to make supper, 20 minutes later when it was done, I came in to find him like this.

Day 164

Ryan has been asking me to make his hair into a mohawk every time it's wet, usually I just brush it up after his bath and eventually it falls down on his own. This time I got out all my hair goop, the blow dryer, and froze his hair into place.

The boys were playing upstairs with Wally while he puttered around tidying up, when he decided to shed some papers. He came downstairs for a few minutes to put things away leaving the boys alone with the shredder (it was unplugged) Can you see where this is going? He went back up and all I heard was "Oh my God! What are you guys doing?" This is what they were doing:

Day 162

I was running around getting ready to meet my parents in the next town over and go garage sailing, and didn't notice that Alex had gotten into my make-up bag. When I went to get him to get him dressed, this is what I found. Of course, for future bribery purposes, I ran to grab my camera.

Day 159

Terror on the tracks! An unknown giant tunnel monster had been seen terrorizing the passengers of the local express train...

Day 157

I carpool on Mondays for Ryan's school. Here is Ryan and some of his school buddies goofing off while I drive them to their swimming lessons. It's hilarious hearing them giggling in the back and singing along to my Lady Gaga CD.

Oops! I posted about day 154 before 153, I guess that's what happens when you fall behind on your blog, you get all mixed up!

Nothing too exciting for day 153...Alex came up with a new use for his pull-ups since we have been doing potty training, and for dinner I had made a marinated pork loin with spicy dijon potatoes and spring peas.
